I've Probably Lost My Mind...

Since we last chatted, I've started something new.

Not a venture like the one we talked about HERE
But a venture where most people who know me think I'm crazy... like totally bonkers, lost it, kinda crazy.

And I gotta admit, they're all probably right!

Diaper Wreath with Pennant Banner, Baby Blanket & Baby Shoes

I don't talk much about my day job.
I've mentioned a few times that I'm a nurse.
But we're normally all talk about paint and craftiness, and it just doesn't come up.

Craft Paper Lined Baby Shoes
Well a nurse I am.

An office nurse.

And this last weekend I went completely crazy and returned to my roots.Back to the hospital and my old unit, Labor & Delivery.

Craft Paper and Clothes Pins

And what makes that all the way NuTS?

Well it's gotta be the fact that I didn't quit my full time day job.

~ I'm working 2 jobs. ~

So far I'm exhausted but having fun!

Paper Pinwheels!

Why, you might ask, am I sharing all this with you?
Well for one, it's just a big deal in my life so why not share it with my lovelies here.

And two... I thought I'd warn you that my already inconsistent blogging could likely get worse.

I'm still doing lots of projects {I've actually got several I just haven't photographed yet that I still need to share} and I plan to continue doing lots of 'em.

Yummy Pretzel, Kisses/Rolo's & M&M snacks... here's the Recipe!

With all that said...
I'm really kinda hoping you all will hang in there while I work in the office, help deliver babies in the hospital and, in my bit of downtime, blog about all my home projects that I love doing so much!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pictures I've thrown in here today are from the baby shower I told you about in my last post.
We hostesses were required to "not go all out" by the Mommy-To-Be, so the majority of the decor is just stuff we reused from previous showers.
{these friends of mine have a lotta babies... we do a lotta showers!}
We all had a blast.
And I'm tellin' ya, I wish I could send each and every one of you one of these strawberry cupcakes!
They were heavenly!!
I Found my Prince, His Name is Daddy {free downloads}
Hey, let's try out something new!
I made another sign...
Yes, I know, that's obviously not new.
I've showed you my signs HERE, and HERE, and HERE, and finally HERE.
But this one was just too cute to not share with you guys.
You understand, right??
Yippee!
Knew you people were awesome like that!!
But do hang in there, I promise we will get to the new part.
Now here's the sign in question...
I made it for one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world, the day before her shower.
Umm yeah, this one was a whirlwind! {snapped this photo right before Mommy arrived for her shower ~ thus the questionable picture quality ~ oh well, I was lucky the paint was dry!}
I used the same technique as I did for my Bacon sign, painters canvas and all.
Oh, one exception.
I finally used a bit of real vinyl instead of just contact paper.
The pink lettering is vinyl, the rest is all paint.
And here's my beautiful friend Crystal.
She just celebrated her first Mother's Day with TWO baby girls... nope, they aren't twins, just 11 months apart.
She's an amazing Mom even though I'm sure she's long since forgotten what sleeping more than 3 hours feels like!
I'm praying for ya girl!!
And now for the something new...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If any of you would like to make or print this sign yourself, you're in luck.
I'm sharing two free downloads with you today.
One to print, one to cut.

And if you'd like to have the .studio file to cut this with your Silhouette, click the link below.

This is my first time using this download tool, so if you have any problems with it, please oh please, let me know!

I hope you enjoy!!

Baby Girl Goes to Prom

Well howdy people. It seems like forever since we've chatted.
Or should I say... since I rambled on and you sweet people put up with me.

Anyway, like everyone else around, I've been über busy lately.
To clarify, "über busy" means working, cooking {not enough, think take-out}, cleaning {hah, way not enough}, painting, rearranging furniture, making blocks, hanging curtains and some really nice evenings spent just hanging out with my family.

Currently, I'm sitting here taking an unscheduled break from work with a little man who woke up with a pretty scary headache.
Right now he's sleeping it off and feeling a bit better, thank you Jesus, so I thought I'd take the time to share with you all what kept me busy this past Saturday.

Up until two weeks ago, Morgan, my oldest, had decided she was NOT going to Prom.
I was a bit disappointed that she would miss the experience of her Junior Prom,
but she was certain, and that was that.

So imagine my surprise when, four days after her school's prom was over, she sent me a text saying she was GOING TO PROM???

It was a whirlwind story involving friends, a different school, a blind date, a borrowed dress and TEN DAYS to plan everything!!
What's a mom to do in a situation like this?

Have fun!

We shopped for jewelry and shoes and literally didn't find everything we needed till the morning of.

AND... with such late notice, the hair, make-up, mani/pedi, everything, was all being done at home.

It was crazy and fun and she was absolutely gorgeous, and now I'll shut up and just let you see her...

Wow, the sun was bright that day!
Morgan was thrilled to see that little bit of bokeh effect showing up naturally in the pics.

I'll tell you, I used a curling wand for the first time ever doing this girls hair.
I had a constant fear of THIS happening every time I curled another section.
If you haven't seen the video of this poor young girl burning her hair off, you really must click over and watch it.
Her reaction is priceless!

 Needless to say, we are very blessed parents to have such a beautiful and talented baby girl!!
